The mystery genre seems to have possessed actor Rajneesh Duggal who will be seen next in another film of the similar genre,Phirr. But he is quick to clarify that this is not a spooky-ghost film. Its a romantic thriller,a suspense drama that has Adah Sharma as the medium, the psychic who helps him unravel his wifes mystery, says Duggal, explaining how the film works on the belief that past life comes back to haunt you. The actor was in town to promote the film at the DT Mall,City Centre, accompanied by writer-director Girish Dhamija, and co-actor Adah Sharma.
While the story seems quite benign as it deals with a married couple who live a blissful existence in Newcastle,North England. Its the quest for her,his love of life that forms the premise of Phhir. It weaves itself around the theory of karma, says Dhamija, whose last film was Yakeen in 2005.
For Adah, who repeats her pairing with Rajneesh in this film,it was the physically demanding aspect of the role, which she remembers most. Standing in knee-deep cold water for a scene in Newcastle was trying, says the actress, who will be seen in a comedy Pri and Me with Sanjay Dutt soon. For Dhamija, who returns to filmmaking with Phirr, the film was a natural consequence since he is a firm follower of Kabir. There are instances thatve happened with me in real life including the birth of my second son, says Dhamija, insisting that the film is different from earlier Bhatt thrillers like Raaz ,Murder and 1920. Post Phhir,Dhamija will be testing the waters with a 3D animation film,Delhi Safari, directed by Nikhil Advani and then a comedy,Dial M for Marriage.
