Kachru’s father seeks Dhumal’s support against ragging

“I would like to inform you that the entire nation has joined me to initiate a movement called the “Aman movement”. This movement is driven by the desire to reform the system and eradicate the menace of ragging once and for all. We don’t want any other family in this country to face such a tragedy ever again,” wrote Kachru.

Through the letter,Kachru offered to join the investigations,being conducted by the Kangra police,and sought Dhumal’s help in directing the police and prosecution agencies to keep him fully apprised about the progress.

“The whole nation is anxious and impatient to know how the case proceeds and justice is done. Personally,I would like to be fully involved in the legal process,” he said.

Kachru thanked the Chief Minister for setting up a trust in his son’s name with a corpus of Rs 50 lakh to provide scholarships to meritorious students and to undertake activities to institutionalise zero tolerance towards ragging.

Informing Dhumal about the Aman Movement’s initiative to set up a similar trust,beside another trust to be started by the family soon with his insurance money,he said,“We believe it is necessary that every effort in this direction is consolidated into a single trust.”
