It’s not everyday that you see former patients who have undergone joint replacement get on the floor together and perform the rather boisterous Bhangra! This Friday saw Fortis Hospital Mohali roll out their ‘Friends of Fortis’ meet at Hotel Shivalikview. Conducted by the hospital’s Department of Orthopedics, the event aimed at showcasing quality of life achievable for former orthopedic patients and saw well-known doctor and orthopedic surgeon,Dr Manuj Wadhwa present a talk on ‘Pre and Post Joint Replacement Life’. The presentation also packed in Bhangra performances by joint replacement patients. Speaking at the meet,Dr Wadhwa remarked,”At Fortis, all that we plan and do,is focused on the patient and his satisfaction. We are committed to helping patients achieve the fullest of lives possible, despite having undergone medical complications in the past. Initiatives like Friends of Fortis help us in communicating this positive message that you can have a full and happening life despite having health problems in your past. This is also a platform for us doctors to connect with our ex-patients in an informal manner. The enthusiasm shown by patients at such meets keeps us motivated and helps us carry our message forward.”
