Babloo,who is accused of murdering Tej Bahadur alias Kallu in Indira Colony following a brawl on Monday night,was produced before the duty magistrate after he was arrested on Thursday.

The murder had triggered off violence in the colony after a mob went on rampage and indulged in arson.

Babloo was also injured when the victim’s relatives attacked him and had to be hospitalised.

While requesting for custody of the accused for five days,the police said in court that they are yet to ascertain the ownership of the bayonet used in the crime.

Recovered from the spot,the sharp-edged weapon is said to be almost impossible to get in the market.

“I killed him because he refused to give a matchbox to me,” Babloo told Newsline.

The police also claimed that Babloo is involved in several criminal cases in the past,the recent one being registered against him in the Manimajra police station for allegedly confining and assaulting one Salim at New Indira Colony.
