In Hollywood

Post the success of Slumdog Millionaire,it looks like everyone’s moving to Hollywood.

Post the success of Slumdog Millionaire,it looks like everyone’s moving to Hollywood. The latest to join the bandwagon is Shenaz Treasurywala who has turned screenplay writer for an untitled English film to be produced by Rob Long,a US-based writer-producer. “It is a comedy about the dilemmas of young women looking for love and matrimony in modern Mumbai,” says Treasurywala, who’s casting the Indian parts of the movie. “We already have Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks’ son) for one of the roles—he has already given us a letter of intent saying that he wants to be a part of this film,” says Treasurywala.

Ask her how she turned a screenplay writer, and she shoots,“I wrote it when I was living between Hong Kong,Bangkok,Bombay and Los Angeles.,my living-out-of-a-suitcase phase!” Although she insists that she has a talent for writing, she also thanks her good fortune for having found a producer so soon. “It was in LA that I met Rob who’s known for his popular TV show Cheers. I asked him to read my work,he loved it and wanted to produce it,” says the former anchor, all excited about her new job.
