City traders leave for exhibition in ChinaA 70-member delegation led by United Cycles and Parts Manufacturers Association president D S Chawla and chairman Manjit Singh Khalsa left for China to attend a three-day cycle exhibition to be held in Shangai in China from April 27. The delegation was flagged off by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal from Chandigarh. The event,which will be inaugurated by Chawla,will see delegates from more than 106 countries. The delegation will also visit 15 factories in China. PAU to honour Surjit Patar tomorrowPunjab Agricultural University will felicitate its former Punjabi teacher Dr Surjit Patar on April 22. PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Manjit Singh Kang will honour Dr Patar in recognition of his being bestowed recently with the prestigious Saraswati Award by the Birla Foundation. Dr Patar remained Punjabi teacher at PAU for over 33 years. He is the third Punjabi writer to get the award after Dr Hari Bhajan Singh and Dr Dalip Kaur Tiwana who got Saraswati Award in 1991 and 2001,respectively.
