(Source: Instagram/Yo Yo Honey Singh)The Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the much-anticipated Honey Singh concert scheduled to take place at Sector-25 Rally Ground on Sunday.
With heavy footfall expected, traffic congestion is likely in and around the venue, prompting authorities to impose restrictions, diversions, and designated parking arrangements to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Mentioning about traffic restrictions and diversions, the Traffic Police said that from 4 PM onwards, there will be restricted entry on the Sector 25/38 dividing road and Sector 14/25 dividing road till the turn of Kacha Rasta, Dhanas. Additionally, commuters are advised to avoid busy intersections like Sector 14/15/24/25 Chowk, Bhaskar Chowk (Sector 24/25-37/38), Dadu Majra Light Point near the Dumping Ground, and Yatri Niwas Chowk (Sector 23/24-15/16), which may experience heavy traffic congestion.
To minimize disruption, alternative routes have been suggested. Madhya Marg and Dakshin Marg are recommended for commuters traveling across the city during the event.
Meanwhile, the authorities have restricted parking near the concert venue, and attendees must park their vehicles at designated parking lots, including Sector-17 Multilevel Parking, adjoining parking areas in Sector 17, and Dussehra Ground in Sector 43. From these locations, shuttle bus services will be available to transport concertgoers to and from the venue.
For those using cab services like Ola and Uber, alighting will only be permitted at designated parking lots, where they must board the shuttle buses. On-road drop-offs and unauthorized parking near the venue will not be allowed, and violators risk having their vehicles impounded, said the official of traffic police.
The concert is expected to attract massive crowds, and commuters have been urged to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Geo-tagged parking locations will be shared by the event organizers to assist attendees in locating designated parking areas.
