The high security registration number plates in the UT will have to wait till next year now,as the Chandigarh Administration has decided to wait for Punjab and Haryana to prepare detailed terms and conditions before inviting tenders for the project.
The decision was taken in a meeting attended by the Transport Secretaries of Chandigarh and the two states today. The meeting, chaired by UT Adviser Pradip Mehra, was attended by Punjabs Transport Secretary DS Jaspal and his Haryana counterpart Sameer Mathur. It was decided that Chandigarh shall follow the Detailed Notice Inviting Tenders (DNIT) prepared by the two states.
Secretary Transport,UT,Ram Niwas said,We have reached a consensus today that Haryana and Punjab shall prepare their DNITs and we will follow them because it is necessary for the two states and Chandigarh to have uniformity in the system. Once these two states undertake it,we will not take much time in going ahead with the project.
