HC to UT: Check feasibility of de-addiction centre in GMCH-32

The Punjab and Haryana High Court Friday directed the Chandigarh Administration to check whether there is a feasibility to open a drug de-addiction centre in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32).

The Punjab and Haryana High Court Friday directed the Chandigarh Administration to check whether there is a feasibility to open a drug de-addiction centre in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32).

The direction was passed Friday during the resumed hearing of a petition concerning the condition of drug de-addiction centres in Punjab,Haryana and Chandigarh.

On the previous dates of hearing,the High Court,expressing concern over the pitiable condition of drug addicts and their families,had directed Punjab and Haryana governments to prepare a plan for allocation of funds and manpower for post-cure support to the addicts and their families.
