The MPs and MLAs of Haryana, who have been allotted residential plots at Mansa Devi Complex in Panchkula will have to wait to get the plots as the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday extended the stay on the allotment for another month.
Last year in May,the high court had admitted a petition challenging the allotment on. It was in 2009 that the high court had ordered stay on the allotment. The petition was filed by the Herald Co-operative Group Housing Society,Panchkula.
The petition came up for resumed hearing on Thursday. After over an hour-long arguments,a division bench referred the matter to another Bench as a similar petition is pending adjudication before a co-ordinate bench. The petition will come up for resumed hearing on December 12.
HUDA had also allotted 78 residential plots of 14 Marla each in Sector 6 of the Mansa Devi Complex,Panchkula lying in proximity to the scenic Sukhna Lake and the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park.
The petitioner had alleged that as per information available,HUDA had carved out these plots by doing away with the site of a government school, plant nursery and green belt.
The petitioner had also pointed out that the MPs and MLAs from Haryana have been extended this benefit at a rather low price of Rs 28 lakh for a 14 marla residential plot as against the market value of about Rs 1.5 crore or so.
