Haryana minister Anil Vij sharpens attack on CM Nayab Singh Saini, releases photos of his ‘detractors’

When contacted by The Indian Express, Tayal said he worked for the BJP during the Haryana Assembly elections. “The BJP workers who are seen with me have a lot of photos with Vij also. Some of them are still with the BJP while some of them have deserted the party and went with Sarwara during the polls. The leader (Vij) should see why they deserted the party because he has been a minister for the past 10 years.”

Tayal said he has been with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the past nearly 15 years, and was a district BJP treasurer until recently. “Three to four days ago, I saw a post on social media that I have been discharged from the post. I don’t know the reasons,” Tayal added.

Last Friday, Vij alleged that during the elections, a senior party leader tried to ensure his defeat. The minister said within a week of winning the election, his seventh, he had “publicly raised the issue of those who played a role in trying to defeat me, whether they were officials, employees, or minor political figures”.

“At first, I suspected that someone with strong political backing had tried to defeat me and even went as far as attempting to have me eliminated”. “But now, after no action has been taken against them, I am convinced of it. Since I am the senior-most leader and I am saying that efforts were made to defeat me, action should have been taken immediately. If not strict action, at least they should have been transferred or expelled from the party. But even after 100 days, nothing has been done, and now, whether they act or not, it no longer matters to me,” he said.

The minister also said Saini “never comes down from his flying chariot.” “Since the day he became CM, he has remained in the air. If he had come down, he would have heard the sufferings of the public. This is not just my voice; it is the voice of all MLAs, all MPs, and all ministers,” Vij added.

When asked about Vij’s allegation that “officers were not listening to him”, Saini recently just said, “Anil Vij is our leader.”

Vij on Haryana BJP president Badoli

Vija also sought the resignation of Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, saying he has been charged with gangrape. “A man who is facing allegations of Section 376, how can he chair a meeting of women? We can’t say that women have been banned in the BJP because we are increasing the participation of women (in the party organisation) up to 30 per cent,” Vij said Sunday.

In December 2024, Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal were booked in a gangrape case in Himachal Pradesh, however, they have termed the allegations baseless.
