The much-in-discussion pet animal medical centre was inaugurated on Friday by Haryana Chief Minister,Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Sector 3,Panchkula. The centre will come complete with a holiday home for pet dogs where people going out with their families can leave behind their dogs at the centre.
In a first of its kind initiative survey conducted by the department,it came to light that the population of pets in Panchkula and the adjoining townships of Chandigarh and Mohali is nearly 50,000. The Rs 7.80-lakh project,to be constructed over an area of two acres,would also provide the facility of breeding sniffer dogs.
The facility of 24-hour emergency,operation theatres,chemists,ambulances,beauty parlours,fitness centers,hostels would also be provided at the centre, the spokesperson said.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the Rs 3.72-crore modern apple market to be constructed in Sector 20 here. Keeping in view the facilities provided by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board,the Central Government has declared this apple market as a wholesale fruit and vegetable terminal market under the National Horticulture Mission Scheme, Hooda said.
Also inaugrated today were the office buildings of Haryana Agro Industries Corporation and Department of Women and Child Development at Panchkula. Those present during the occasion included Agriculture Minister HS Chatha,senior officials of various departments.
