GMSSS-37 (B) stroll to comfortable 6-0 win over St Stephen’s

The GMSSS-37 (B) players pressed hard and kept most of the possession of the ball. Displaying superior technique and good coordination among themselves,the GMSSS-37 players continued to torment the St Stephen’s-45 defenders. Sandeep scored the third goal of the match in the 19th minute to put the team in a commanding position. Then,it was Mandeep’s turn to work his magic as the player superbly converted a penalty corner to put the team ahead 4-0 in the 32nd minute. Two more goals by Sukhwinder and Nikhil in the 38th and 43rd minutes respectively,helped the team register a comfortable win.

Meanwhile,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 41,managed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Shivalik Public School,Sector 41. Sushil opened the account for GMSSS-41 in the ninth minute. Krishna was also on the scoresheet as his strike in the 36th minute helped the team double their lead. Jatin reduced the margin for Shivalik-41.

Similarly,Government Model High School,Sector 42,outplayed Ryan International School,Sector 49,Chandigarh 3-0. Sukhjeet put GMHS-42 ahead in the seventh minute of the match. Rohit then doubled the lead with a superb goal in the 21st minute. Maninder was also on the scoresheet as he scored the team’s third goal in the 48th minute.

In another match in the same age category,Shivalik Public School,Sector 41,prevailed over Government High School,Sector 25,Chandigarh,2-1. Nirbhay and Simranjeet were the scorers for Shivalik-41 while Vikas Nageshia pulled back one for GHS-25.

Meanwhile,in the boys’ under-19 age category,Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School (SGGSCPS),Sector 26,routed DAV School,Sector 8,Chandigarh,3-0. Jaswinder opened the account for SGGGSCPS-26 in the third minute while Raj Kumar doubled the lead for the team in the fifth minute of the match. Jaswinder then scored his second goal of the match in the tenth minute.

In another match,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 37 defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School Maloya 3-0. Malkeet scored the opening goal for the team in the seventh minute.

Jasdeep then made it 2-0 with a superb strike in the 12th minute. Harmeet was also on the scoresheet as he sounded the board in the 24th minute of the match.

Meanwhile,in the UT inter school baseball tournament,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 10,crushed Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 35,Chandigarh 6-0,in a lop-sided encounter in the boys’ under-14 category.

In another match,St Anne’s School,Sector 32,humbled Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 37,Chandigarh 11-1.

In the boys’ under-17 category,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 10,scraped past Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 33,Chandigarh,3-2 while Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 35,registered an easy 6-0 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 46.

Similarly,in the girls’ under-14 category,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 15,beat St Anne’s School,Sector 32,Chandigarh,4-2 while Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 10,defeated Government High School,Sector 11,Chandigarh 3-1.

Then,in the girls’ under-17 category,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 10,outclassed Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 15,Chandigarh,4-1 while Government High School,Sector 11,beat St Anne’s School,Sector 32,Chandigarh 4-2.

In UT inter school circle kabaddi in the boys’ under-19 category,DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,entered the final after beating Government High School Kanjheri by 23 points. They will meet Government Senior Secondary School Dhanas in the final who defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 40 by 18 points.
