The postgraduate degree in ENT (MS ENT) being conducted by the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has been given recognition as per intimation received from the Medical Council of India (MCI). GMCH which was started in 1991 primarily to conduct undergraduate courses,began to run a majority of its postgraduate degrees in 1999.
The MCI granted permission to start a postgraduate course in ENT in 2008 and now after assessment made during the final year examination of the first batch which was held in May 2011,Board of Governors in a super session of Medical Council of India has given recognition for MS (ENT Course). This recognition is valid for five years subject to the renewal after that. Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) which has Postgraduation course in 13 subjects; Anaesthesiology,ENT,Gynaecology,Orthopaedics,Pulmonary Medicine,Transfusion Medicine,Community Medicine,Anatomy,
Microbiology,Ophthalmology,Pathology,Psychiatry and Forensic Medicine,after the permission from the Medical Council of India (MCI).
