Parvesh Rana is back on a reality show this time as the host of Emotional Atyachaar 2
Thanks to Anurag Kashyaps Dev D,everyone now understands what emotional atyachaar refers to. Taking the concept further has been UTV Bindass with their bold in-your-face reality show,Emotional Atyachaar that tanked up the TRPs last season. And it seems the over-the-edge content where cheaters in love are exposed has found enough takers as the show is back with season two.
While season one saw cricketer-model-actor Angad Bedi steer the show, the person set to step into his shoes is former Mr India and Bigg Boss 3 finalist Parvesh Rana. Having seen reality TV up close,Rana is
eager to give it another shot, only this time hes on the other side of the camera. There are plenty of offers coming my way but when it comes to television,I didnt want to do the usual daily drama, says Rana who was in the city to officially announce the start of Emotional Atyachaar Season 2 this August 7. Accompanying him was Kanika Saxena, marketing head of UTV Bindass. If you thought season one was sensational, the action only gets bigger and better this time around, says Saxena.
Ranas role on the show wont be that of just an anchor. For me the involvement is much more. I will go through the journey of each episode with the person who is being cheated, says Rana. But,as he says so himself,it will be an unbiased approach. I take on the big responsibility of making sure emotions dont take the best of a person. I will ensure that both individuals, including the person in question,is given a fair chance to prove their stance, says Rana who feels the show will help people realise the truth about things which one otherwise tends to ignore or keep in denial.
We arent restricting ourselves to shooting in just Mumbai or Pune this time. We have been deluged with calls and mails from the northern region, says Saxena who also shared some points on the research theyve done with the show. For one, cheating partners isnt a big city phenomenon. We have people calling in from smaller cities sharing the same problems, she adds. Women cheat on their partners as much as men and most often its the boyfriends best friend. Ouch.
Emotional Atyachaar 2 will air every Saturday at 7pm from August 7.
