If ever there was a brand ambassador for the field of education,Amitabh Bachchan would fit the part. The actor, back to hosting yet another season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, reiterated the importance of education at a recent press conference marking the show’s launch. “Education is extremely important, but it means nothing if one is not ready to learn something new everyday,” he said.

The superstar’s views tie in well with the show’s new campaign,“Seekhna Bandh Toh Jeetna Bandh”. Aimed at fashioning a new approach towards education,Bachchan asserted that the new season — KBC’s seventh — will encourage people across the country to learn with him. The show,to premiere on September 6 at 8.30 pm,will run for 13 weekends and will be produced by Big Synergy Media. The format will also see some key changes. Siddhartha Basu,Chief Managing Director,Big Synergy Media, said that the new format will allow a “best of three” for the participants of the Fastest Finger First round. “This apart,we have introduced a new lifeline ‘Power Paplu’,which will allow the participants to revive any used lifeline, and grant 45 seconds for the Phone-a-Friend lifeline. The money tree will now have 15 questions and the prize money is Rs 7 crore,” he said.
