Four more days’ police custody for robbers

The eight arrested in the Sector 10 robbery case that took place in August were remanded to another four days’ police custody by the local court today. The police claimed that they needed to take the accused to Bijnour to recover the booty for which they needed an extension of remand.

Meanwhile,sources in the police have alleged that the Vij family is not cooperating with them in the investigation. They said that they had asked the family members to accompany their team to Bijnour to identify their stolen valuables as it was also part of other heists committed by the robbers,they have refused to do so.

The family,however,has denied the allegations,saying that they assisted them at every step and that it was the police that were forcing them to make do with Rs 1.5 lakh as recovery rather than the stolen Rs 15 lakhs.
