A 34-Year-old man was murdered in broad daylight by four motorcycle-borne assailants in Tewar village near Kharar. The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon,when Paramjit Singh alias Pamma,left for his fields which were located a kilometer from his house. While busy in his field,four people,who were reported to have come in two bikes threw chilli powder in his eyes and then attacked him with sharp weapons. He received serious injuries on his head,ear,arm and leg.
They were seen by the villagers who came out of their houses after hearing Paramjits cries. Paramjit is survived by a wife and three-month-old daughter.
Paramjit called up his uncle informing him about the incident and Tanveer reached the spot along with two more persons from the village. Paramjit was found unconscious a few meters away from the place where he was attacked. Tanveer initially decided to take him to PGI on the bike,but later called me to bring a car. By the time I reached the spot,Paramjit,who was my maternal uncle had died. We then informed the police, said Simranjit Singh Mann.
Speaking to Newsline,DSP Kharar,Sukhdev Singh Virk said,We have registered a case of murder against four unidentified persons and have recovered a weapon along with its broken handle from the spot. The body has been kept at the Kharar hospital mortuary and the post mortem will be conducted on Thursday.
