The auditions for mega musical event ‘Voice of Chandigarh 2010’ was organised on February 7 by Gurukul Vidyapeeth and S-4 Trust at the Government Museum & Arts Gallery Sector 10,Chandigarh. Mayor Anu Chatrath was the chief guest while eminent singer Rinku Kalia and Varinder Bachan,music director were the judges for the auditions. It was a preliminary round to shortlist potential voices in and around Chandigarh. The mega finale would be held on September 28,2010 on the eve of Lata Mangeshaker’s birthday. For the auditions,participants were divided into two categories based on the age group viz. 9 to14 years and 14 to18 years. “The year-long talent hunt will provide a platform to budding singers to perform along with mainstream Bollywood and regional singers. The winners of the talent hunt will get an opportunity to work in the audio-visual projects of Gurukul Vidyapeeth and the S-4 Trust,” Gurukul CEO Manmohan Garg said. More than 250 participants from the various schools and colleges in and around Chandigarh participated in the event and showcased their talent.
