Flower shows and competitions are held to encourage amateur gardeners to participate and produce good quality blooms and encourage them to put more efforts to get a better specimen to win a prize. But at times due to anomalies,competitors are discouraged as all entries are judged in the same category. For instance,both exhibition type and pompon dahlias are judged in the same category,as are petunias,whether single or double hybrid type. Gerberas are also judged in the same category,whether single type or hybrid. But the good news is that this year,categories have been made to judge flowers under different types. Best of luck!
* You had once mentioned that nitrogen should be added at 100 gram per year of age to fruit trees. I have both urea and CAN,how much of each should be added to four-year-old trees?

The application of nitrogen for all trees at this rate is not recommended. It varies from species to species. But to add 100 gram nitrogen,you will need 200 gram urea and 400 gram CAN,as the nitrogen content is 46% and 25% in urea and CAN respectively.
* How deep should I dig to add manure and fertilizer to fruit trees?

Never dig to add manure and fertilizer. All fertilizers available in the market have water soluble nutrient contents. There is no need to spoon feed the plants.
* I want to sow karela and tinda seeds now. Any precautions?

Soak the seeds in lukewarm water overnight and then sow in the morning.
* Can I sow bhindi and chappan kadunow? When can I sow haldi and adrak?
Yes,you can sow bhindi and chappan kadu now. Follow the procedure as explained above. Haldi and adrak can be grown at the end of this month.
