Firing in Mohali,compromise later

Three neighbours of Rajnish Kumar,a resident of Phase V,Mohali,came to his residence,threatening and abusing his tenants late on Monday night.

When Rajnish came out of his house,around 11.30 pm,hearing the loud voices,Sukhpreet Singh,one of the neighbours,fired once towards him and twice in the air. He,then,ran away with the other two neighbours,Manu Kamboj and Pankaj Kamboj. All three were allegedly drunk. Nobody was,however,injured in the firing.

A case has been registered at the Phase I police station in Mohali against Sukhpreet,who is the trustee of a college in Rohtak,on charges of endangering life or personal safety of others and relevant sections of the Arms Act. He was produced in court on Tuesday and remanded in judicial custody. A compromise was reached late in the night between Rajnish and the other two neighbours who had also allegedly abused him and his tenants.
