FIR registered against Navin Jindal

An FIR was registered against sitting Congress MP from Kurukshetra,Navin Jindal,for alleged defacement of public property on the Pipli-Kurukshetra road.

An FIR was registered against sitting Congress MP from Kurukshetra,Navin Jindal,for alleged defacement of public property on the Pipli-Kurukshetra road.

The Election Commission today asked the Kurukshetra administration to file an FIR against those responsible for the act. Jindal has been booked under the Defacement of Public Property Act. He had allegedly installed posters and banners of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in his constituency.

SP Kurukshetra said the case was registered under Section 3 of the Haryana Public Property Defacement Act. Assistant Returning Officer Shahbad registered the police case against Jindal.

The EC also gave notice to Haryana Health Minister Kartar Devi for misuse of government machinery,and violations of the model code of conduct.

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) welcomed both the registeration of criminal case against the Congress MP Naveen Jindal,and the Election Commission’s notice to Kartar Devi.

INLD state president Ashok Arora demanded stern action against the Congress ministers,MPs and the officers involved in the violations of the code of conduct. INLD had earlier complained against various unauthorised hoardings.

Health Minister Kartari Devi had used official car with red beacon for electioneering. Arora said that the Haryana government and the Congress party had scant regard for the code of conduct,and were trying to influence voters to avert their -iminent defeat.

CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda was also reportedly served a notice by the Election Commission today for misuse of official machinery. Hooda had used an official car with red beacon on a poltical visit to Rohtak. The Panchkula DC was also transferred on INLD’s complaint.

Arora said that INLD had complained to the Commission against and Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the Panchkula DC. He demanded stringent action against the Chief Minister,and the officers allegedly running the control office of the Congress campaign in the state.
