‘Favouritism in selection process harms judiciary’

Welcoming the meeting between heads of both countries,Awan said while attending a media interaction session organised by the Punjab and Haryana Bar council,“Both India and Pakistan,even though are nuclear-powered nations,know that they cannot change their neighbours,but that they can change their outlook. These are testing times for the leadership in both countries,so dialogue and regional cooperation is the only way forward as without it no big dispute has ever been solved.”

He urged the media to promote the dialogue between both countries. “Lawyers in both countries want the prisoners who are lodged in jails in India and Pakistan to be released after completion of their jail terms as it is against the UN’s Human Rights Charter. Both countries should work to make visa regulations easier,” said Awan.
