Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday said as state Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh was facing decimation in the ensuing Vidhan Sabha elections,he was crying hoarse and showering abuses on his political opponents in frustration.

Speaking at a Sangat Darshan programme at village Arniwala,Badal said the SAD-BJP government does not believe in vendetta or negative politics and has concentrated on accelerating development works in the state. As a result, the projects initiated by state government in the first two years, have started fructifying — increasing the frustration of Amarinder,he added.

Claiming that the Captain, during his five-year term as the chief minister hardly went to office,Sukhbir said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and he,himself, had been monitoring the progress of every project, ensuring their time-bound completion.

Challenging Amarinder to spell out a single project that he initiated and completed during his term,Sukhbir said he was still waiting the list of 51 projects that the Captain had promised to the people of Punjab.

Reiterating his stand to bring back every single penny allegedly stashed by Amarinder in Swiss accounts,Sukhbir claimed that despite his repeated pleadings to prime minister, the Captain has failed to get a clean chit.

Besides distributing grants of Rs 8 lakh each to 30 villages as well as sports kits,Badal distributed cheques of Rs 6.27 crore for development works of the area.
