This exhibition brings to Chandigarh textiles designed by weavers from across the country — from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat. “Each piece is crafted with intricate details. A lot of attention has been given to motif design and patchwork,” says Kanchan Sharma (in the picture),organiser of the winter exhibition that is on at Episode. On sale are formal and semi-formal suits and kurtis in natural cotton and silk weaves created by renowned craftspeople. “It is a perfect blend of contemporary and traditional,” adds the designer who is known for her off-beat colour combinations,ethnic printing and rich embroidery in gold,copper and silver threads. For those looking for something more contemporary,there are anarkali suits and regular wear in cotton,with the price ranging from Rs 1,400 to Rs 6,500. Sharma informs that block printed dress material in silk and and sarees,priced Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000,are also part of the collection.

The exhibition is on at Episode,House Number 202,Sector 9-C,on November 12 and 13.
