Amrit Pal Kaur produced a superb performance to claim twin titles in the girl’s section in the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior and Challenger Sprints Rowing Championship for boys and girls,held at the Lake Club on Saturday. Kaur won the sub-junior girl’s single sculls and double skulls titles. Wading through the water,Kaur clocked 1:53.13 seconds to claim gold. Continuing with her rich form,Kaur clinched her second gold medal of the day as she partnered with Manisha to bag the double sculls title with a timing of 2:25.01 seconds. In the Challenger Sprints,Jasgsir Singh finished on the top in the single sculls (boys) with a timing of 1:39.05 seconds. He finished ahead of Gurmej Singh who clocked 1:40.36 seconds,thus leaving Dishant,who clocked 1:51.36 seconds,at the third spot.
In the double sculls section,Dishant Sehgal and Gurmej Singh paired wot annex the title with a timing of 1:3.94 seconds. Ayush and Shail finished runners up by clocking 2:01.11 seconds. In the coxless pairs event,Vikinder Kumar and Jagmeet Singh bagged the gold medal with a timing of 1:29.05 seconds while Desraj and Ravinder Jit Singh,who clocked 1:33.18 seconds,won the silver medal. Tarsem and Harpreet,meanwhile,paired to clinch the silver medal with a timing of 1:3.47 seconds.
