Double delight for Kalyani and Dev Saini

Kalyani of Manav Mangal School,Sector 21 and Dev Saini of DAV Coaching Centre,Sector 8 completed a double each in the Bhawan Hawk First Chandigarh Table Tennis Ranking Tournament conducted under the patronage of Chandigarh Table Tennis Association at the Sector 23 Table Tennis Hall on Sunday.

Kalyani,who on Saturday clinched the junior girls’ title, defeated Nadia Saini of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women,Sector 26 in the women’s singles final by 7-11,11-7,9-11,7-11,11-7,11-6,12-10. Nadia had earlier beaten Kalyani by 11-8,8-11,11-9,9-11,11-8,8-11,11-7 in the youth girls’ singles final.

Dev Saini,a trainee of DAV Coaching Centre of Sector 8,disposed off the challenge of Vikas Sharma of AG Audit,Punjab,and won the men’s singles title by 7-11,11-4,11-6,11-8,9-11,11-7. Saini had earlier claimed the youth boys singles title after outpointing Sumit Chaudhary of Ajit Karam Singh International Public School,Sector 41 by 12-10,13-11,11-5,11-4.

Tarak Roy of New Public School,Sector 18 defeated Mayank Kapoor of DAV Public School,Sector 8 by 11-5,18-16,11-9,12-10 in the junior boys singles final.
