With blue sky up ahead and sunshine filling warmth in the air,Arjun of DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,came up with a spirited performance as he won both the boys Under-19 Javelin Throw and Triple Jump titles during the second day of the Inter School Athletic Meet organised by Education Department,UT,Chandigarh,at Sports Complex,Sector 7,on Friday.

Arjun had a throw of 37.30 metre which fetched him gold in Javelin Throw. Mandeep (GNKSSS-30) and Dalip (GSSS-MMT) won the second and third prizes with 32.20 and 30.78 metre,respectively.

The girls’ Under-17 High Jump title went to Neha of Government Model High School,Sector 26,with a jump of 1.15 metre. She was closely followed by Gyatri of GMHS-26 and Sushmite of Saupins School-32 with 1.14 and 1.10 metre,respectively.

Shikha of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 35,came up with a spirited performance as she threw her javelin 22.35 metre away to win gold in the Under-19 girls’ javelin throw.

Following her in the second and third position were Manmeet Kaur of GMSSS-35 and Jaspreet Kaur of GMSSS-21 with throw of 20.40 and 19.19 metre,respectively.

Meanwhile,Shrikant of Ajit Karam Singh International Public School-41 took the honours in boys’ Under-17 Discus Throw event with 25.20 metre. Gagan of GMHS-32 and Rajinder of GNKSSS-30 bagged the second and third position with 24.55 and 24.20 metre,respectively.

Abhinav of SD School-32 bagged the boys’ Under-19 high jump title with 1.55 metre,while Vickey of DAV-8,with a jump of 11.04 metre,won the boys’ Under-17 Triple Jump title.
