Doctors’ strike called off?

Fissures seem to have erupted between the doctors on strike,with Principal Secretary (Health) P C Dhiman claiming that the doctors have agreed to call off their agitation to create an atmosphere of goodwill in favour of their demands for regularisation of jobs. Dr Vikas Thakur,a key spokesman of the doctors,however,denied this,asserting that “those who had gone for talks with the health secretary have not returned”. Dhiman asserted that he had a detailed discussion with the representatives of the joint action committee. The health director was also present. “The doctors finally agreed to come to the negotiation table. They also spoke to Health Minister Dr Rajeev Bindal,who is in Delhi,and informed him about the decision,” he said.
