Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal,on Wednesday,announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for Himachalis winning a gold medal in the forthcoming Olympics in Great Britain.
Silver medalists will get Rs 50 lakh and bronze medal winner Rs 25 lakh.
He was speaking at the opening of a three-day long Dr Y S Parmar Memorial Volley Ball Tournament.
He said synthetic athletic tracks were being constructed at Dharamshala and Hamirpur,at a cost of Rs 8 crore each and a Rs 7 crore astroturf hockey ground would be constructed at Una.
He added that Priyanka Negi,who was a member of the Kabaddi Team which won gold medal in World Kabaddi Championship was rewarded a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh on Himachal Day.
