Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday endorsed the Draft Approach Paper of the 12th Five Year Plan for taking up Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in the states infrastructure building sector including in higher education and road construction.
Winding up two-day long discussions for mid-term appraisal of the current annual plan and formulation of 12th Five Year Plan here,Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the approach paper prepared by the Centre stresses for PPP to boost development process. State government is in its favour and has already adopted it to make Himachal Pradesh an educational hub and to impart quality professional and technical education at the doorsteps, Dhumal said highlighting the the opening of new private universities in the state.
Dhumal said that the government could consider outsourcing the Detail Project Reports (DPRs) on the MLAs priority schemes so that the work could be taken up at the earliest.
Speaking about the extensive damage to the roads due to rains,he assured that they would be repaired soon and said efforts are on to construct new roads.
During the discussions,Rakesh Pathania (Nurpur) hailed the sanctioning of work on Fina Singh Irrigation Project saying it would benefit the farmers of the area.
Sujan Singh Pathania (Jawali) lauded the polyhouse scheme and urged to upgrade the Nurpur hospital to impart specialised medical services.
Parveen Sharma (Palampur) urged to start the science classes in senior secondary schools and early execution of Palampur Ropeway Project. Gobind Thakur (Kullu) wanted early completion and implementation of Manali Vision Document and early completion of Rs 30 crore mega Tourism project to identify new unexplored destinations in the valley.
