Despite Supreme Court orders banning black films on car windows,Tricity residents are still getting them installed. While the number of such people may have come down, owners of shops that install black films, say they continue to receive customers.

The shopkeepers state that among those who come to them for installation of the black films,a majority are youngsters. The shops are in the business of both removal and installation of the black films.

Khalid Khan, the chairman of the Motor Market Association,Sector 28 said: “Though the numbers have gone down, there are people who come to us for getting black films installed. People want some amount of protection from the sun. That is why they want black films installed”.

The shopkeepers are, however, complaining about the losses that the decision is causing to them. With stocks of black film still lying in the markets, the shopkeepers are not sure what to do with them.
