DAV student contracts swine flu

The classes of the Sector-8 DAV School have been suspended for a week after a student of Class VIII tested positive for swine flu thus taking the number of cases in the city to 60.

The classes of the Sector-8 DAV School have been suspended for a week after a student of Class VIII tested positive for swine flu thus taking the number of cases in the city to 60. The 14-year-old boy and his 36 classmates have been told to stay at home till Monday next. Also,45 other students of the school who boarded the same school bus daily with the ailing student have been told not to attend classes for a week.

Swine flu nodal officer H C Gera told Newsline the school authorities had been apprised of all the precaution to be taken and have been given all the guidelines on identifying students having the flu symptoms. The student resides in the PGI complex and his family has been quarantined.Meanwhile,two more samples were collected on Monday and the results are awaited.
