DAV college holds annual prize distribution function

Around 13 students received roll of honours in academics,36 in sports,10 in cultural activities and 150 merit certificates were given to college toppers during the annual prize distribution function of DAV College,Sector 10,on Monday.

Rupal Singh was adjudged the best all round student of 2012-2013 and Ajitesh was declared the best sportsperson of the year. The college spent around 8 lakh rupees on scholarships,cash prizes and grooming of their sportspersons.

Union Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was the chief guest on the ocassion and Dr P S Jaswal,Vice-Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law,Patiala ,was the guest of honour. The college also honoured its alumni for distinguished performances in their respective fields. These were Dr Basant Garg,D C,Fazilka; Dr Gaurav Uppal JT secretary to State Railway Minster; Jatinder Singh Aulakh,DIG,Administration U T,among others.
