Cops wanted to kill me in fake encounter: AAP MLA Harmit Singh Pathanmajra
He denied he had absconded after opening fire at the police. He said he asked the personnel to go to a gurdwara and speak under oath.

Day after he escaped from Punjab police custody after a case was registered against him, AAP MLA from Sanour Harmit Singh Pathanmajra Wednesday released a video message accusing the police of planning “to eliminate him in a fake encounter”.
Dressed in maroon checkered shirt and a pair of blue denims, Pathanmajra, who has been booked on charges of rape, cheating and criminal intimidation, said the police had “assigned Anti Gangster Task Force fame DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar” to arrest him.
He denied he had absconded after opening fire at the police. He said he asked the personnel to go to a gurdwara and speak under oath. “I had engaged the police by offering them food. Then I cleverly asked the people of the village to gather. Then I escaped. They chased me. But I escaped,” he said in the video, from an undisclosed location. The Police had gone to arrest him to Dabri village in Karnal in Haryana on Tuesday morning.
“I had got a call from a policeman that they will try to eliminate me in a fake encounter on the way. That is why I escaped,” he said.
“I never had any altercation with the police nor did I have a scuffle. When they tried to fire at my car, I escaped by another route. I survived only by God’s grace,” he said. He urged the MLAs and ministers to unite against the Delhi leaders who were trying to “destabilise” Punjab.
He said he respected the police force, but was disappointed that they were “acting on Delhi leaders’ directions”.
