Cops registered names of servants days before murder

The murder of the 72-year-old woman at her residence in Sector 7 last week night was carried out by the domestic servants only days after the police had registered them for verification to check their previous antecedents,police said on Monday

The murder of the 72-year-old woman at her residence in Sector 7 last week night was carried out by the domestic servants only days after the police had registered them for verification to check their previous antecedents,police said on Monday.

During the recent verification process,police had registered the names of both the domestic servants — Surajpal and his wife Chintesh.

However,till now their earlier criminal antecedents have not come to the notice of police. Officials said the information about their background was being verified from the UP police. Both the accused,who have been working at the house of the deceased,Sushila Devi,for the last 1 year,are from Moradabad in Uttar Pardesh. Their names were recorded in the door-to-door survey in the first few days of the verification the police,and no one from the family of Sushila had informed the police about their stay in the house. This was confirmed by Station House officer (SHO) Sector 5 police station,Mukesh Kumar

Sushila’s son Rajendar Dhupar said the domestic servants were working for nearly a year and they didn’t suspect their behaviour. Along with Surajpal and his wife,Chintesh,police have also arrested Suraj’s cousin,Gainda Mal and his brother-in-law,Ram Bahadur,for the murder.

While Chintesh is currently serving judicial custody,police said the three male accused have been taken into police remand of 5 days.

SHO Mukesh Kumar said the police is submitting the list of people whose names were registered,to their respective states to check their antecedents.
