Cop caught on camera assaulting minor, his family at Nayagaon

A shocking video of a Chandigarh Police constable has gone viral on social media, showing the officer allegedly misusing his authority inside a private residence at Nayagaon, Mohali district. The constable, identified as Inderjeet, is seen entering a home without a warrant, attempting to assault a minor boy, and manhandle family members who tried to intervene.

The video displays his name badge, “Inderjeet Constable,” and his uniform marked with “Chandigarh Police”. His belt number, 5002, is also visible. In the footage, the constable can be seen pushing and shoving a woman relative who tried to defuse the situation.

“He abused and threatened us inside our home,” said the complainant.

According to the complainant, the altercation began over a dispute involving two minor children. Instead of addressing the matter civilly, the constable stormed into the house and started yelling, using abusive language, and tried to assault the minor. When the family intervened, he began pushing them and issued threats. “He came claiming he was from Chandigarh Police and shouted, ‘No one can touch me. I’m above law,’” said the complainant.

‘He threatened to kill us’

Monika Sharma, who works at PGIMER, Chandigarh, said she was on duty when the incident happened. Her children and relatives were home at the time. “My children called me in panic. When I rushed home from the hospital, they told me that the constable threatened to kill them,” she said.

The family also alleged that the constable warned them against entering Chandigarh, saying, “If any member of your family steps into Chandigarh, which is my area, I won’t spare them.”

The incident has sparked public outrage, raising serious concerns about police conduct and misuse of power.

When contacted, DSP (City-1) Prithvi Singh stated, “The complainant is on the way, and we are currently verifying the facts and details. An investigation is underway, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.”
