Constables miscarriage case: IRB officers yet to send answers to questionnaire

The delay in sending the reply is said to be a tact to put pressure on the constables. The women police station officers will soon send a reminder to the IRB in this connection.

Officials of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) of the Chandigarh Police at Sarangpur have failed to send the answers to the queries to the UT police related to the case of miscarriage of two women constables even after 24 days.

The delay in sending the reply is said to be a tact to put pressure on the constables. The women police station officers will soon send a reminder to the IRB in this connection.

Sources in the police said the officers of the IRB did not send the reply of the questionnaire sent on October 10 on behalf of in-charge of the women police station inspector Harjeet Kaur to the officials of the IRB seeking information of the number and duties given to the women constables at the IRB.

The police sought the information about the number of women constables, their phone numbers, the nature of their duty, the phone numbers of the women constables and the places where the constables were deputed.

“A reminder will soon be sent to the IRB officials asking them to explain the delay in sending the information to the police as it is crucial to know that under what conditions the women constables are made to work, we did not receive the reply to the four questions sent to the IRB officials yet,” said an official at the women police station on condition of anonymity.

Talking to the Chandigarh Newsline, Sector 17 women police station in-charge Harjeet Kaur said they did not get any reply regarding the questionnaire and soon a reminder will be sent to the IRB officials to send the reply.

It is pertinent here that the two women constables suffered miscarriage while they were allegedly sent on “VIP” duty at Rajindra Park.
