Unruffled by the absence of top Congress leaders but at the same time encouraged by the response of local party workers, former minister G S Bali on Thursday completed the second phase of his padyatra at Kathgarh in Kangra district by covering 750 km to highlight the alleged failure of the BJP government to provide employment the educated youth.
The yatra has shaken the BJP government, which attempted to disrupt the yatra and spread falsehood about my agenda to mobilise youth and create a mass awakening about the BJPs lacklustre and corrupt regime, said Bali.
Condemning the alleged attempt to a handful of BJP-backed hooligans to disrupt yatra,he added: It was a sign of frustration.
The response I got at places like Solan,Una and all through my journey to enter Kangra from Chintpurni has proved that the Congress was on a comeback trail. We will win more than 45 seats to form the next government in the state. I dont think the BJP will be able to cross the single digit figure because of vertical split that the party has already witnessed, Bali said on reaching Kathgarh.
The yatra, which he started from Paonta Sahib on June 19,has passed through Solan,Baddi-Barotiwala,Nalagrah,Una,Chintpurni and finally entered Kangra via Dehra.
While speaking to mediapersons,Bali chose to downplay the absence of the top Congress leaders in the yatra by saying that he has the blessings of all top leaders.
Everyone is working towards the Congress return to power. My yatra will prove to be a powerful medium to mobilise the masses against the BJPs misrule and return of the Congress, he added.
