Various truths, perspectives, inner struggles and facets of life appear on canvas,as part of “Vibration”,a show of paintings by 16 artists. Being held at Punjab Kala Bhawan, the exhibition showcases works of artists, from across India,in various mediums. Many of the artists are present in the gallery to interact with the audience. “I feel we need to develop a direct relationship with the audience. This would enable us to demystify art in the gallery,’’ says Suhani Jain,an Aligarh-based artist. Her series, which are intricate with various motifs, symbols and elements, focuses on woman power. Jain likes to use triangles in these works, which according to her represents moments in a woman’s life, where she is dictated by various male influences. “My woman is strong and takes up responsibility with faith and follows her dreams,’’ says Jain. She uses gold, blue and red to depict various emotions.

Nikhil Sukhdev Giri’s landscapes are his view of the ideal world, which is fast vanishing with concrete taking over green spaces. Mud houses, acres of greenery and beauty by the river side are some of the sights that one sees in his work. The artist, who is from Nagpur, shares that he wants to capture nature in all its glory on his canvases,as the coming generations may not witness this beauty.

Another artist,Sandeep Shakya uses the image of the moon along with embedded images, photo colours and sprays to create varied phases of the moon and its directions; while Runa Banu from Aligarh paints a glowing image of a butterfly with the yellow beams of the flower. Navkas Sharma’s painting is inspired by the movie Twister,as he creates a unique effect of the twister with various colours. Mustajab Shlele’s portraits bring to life many emotions,as well as the simple beauty of women. Vishal Sharma’s muse is Lord Shiva,as he represents him in varied hues and symbols.

The faces of nature, scenes from daily life, inner reflections and village scenes — “Vibration” has numerous dimensions.

The exhibiton is on display at Punjab Kala Bhawan,Sector 16,till June 7
