CM XI,SBOP book their semi-final berths

Led by unbeaten knock of 49 runs by skipper Sunny Sharma,CM X1 recorded 31-run win over ICL Group of Colleges to enter the semifinals of 1st Cricket Challenger T20 Cup in a match played at Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium,Sector 3,Panchkula.

Batting first,CM XI posted a total of 167 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. It was the third-wicket partnership of 77 runs between Sunny Sharma (49 no) and Yashpal Singh (38) which propelled CM-XI to a total of 167 runs. In reply,ICL Group of Colleges team were skittled out for 136 runs. Despite fluent knock from Rocky Ratta (74 off 48 balls),the losing team failed to achive the target. Arjun bowled well to take three wickets for the winning side.

Meanwhile,in another match played at the same venue,State Bank of Patiala registered five-wicket win over Royal Greater XI to book their semis berth. Mukesh Sharma (3 for 8) and Sarbajit Ladda (2 for 11) bowled well in tandem to restrict Royal Greater to mere total of 60 runs in 15 overs. Batting second,SBOP achieved the target in 11.2 overs with ease.
