The traders of the city would make a contribution towards environment protection. From organizing lectures to making use of eco-friendly products and services,the traders would be engaged in a number of activities.
Taking a step in this direction Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) has constituted an environment protection sub committee. It is for the first time that such a sub committee has been constituted by the traders. B K Sood would be its chairman.
In addition to participating in all such projects by the Administration and other welfare bodies,CBM would also organise seminars to educate its members. Efforts would be made to motivate traders of the city to adopt all possible means to minimise pollution and encourage usage of eco-friendly products and services.
Diwakar Sahoonja,president Chandigarh Beopar Mandal while announcing the formation of the sub-committee said the traders felt the need to make a contribution in protecting the environment. He said the aim of CBM was to fulfill its social responsibility.
The CBM has also constituted other sub-committees including administration co-ordination committee,membership screening committee and disciplinary action committee. Sharanjit Singh,Romesh Dugal and Gursharan Batra would be the chairmen of these committees.
