Taking cognisance of a complaint lodged by the father of a class VI student of a prominent city school,Chandigarh Police on Monday registered a case on charges of “using words,gestures,acts,intending to insult the modesty of a woman” and initiated investigations.

Chandigarh: Taking cognisance of a complaint lodged by the father of a class VI student of a prominent city school,Chandigarh Police on Monday registered a case on charges of “using words,gestures,acts,intending to insult the modesty of a woman” and initiated investigations. The ‘victim’,a student of class VI of St Stephen’s School,Sector 45,alleged that she had been ‘harassed’ by two of her classmates,including a girl,for the last three years and a cleaning staff of the school for the last few months.

Mullanpur ‘Eco City’ to open on Sept 21

Sas Nagar: GMADA’s Mullanpur residential project will be called ‘Eco City’ and will open on September 21. At a meeting of GMADA officials with Punjab Chief Secretary Subodh Chander Aggarwal,it was decide that the project would have a total of 740 plots and 20 per cent of the plots would be auctioned. It was also decided that 1,000 square yard plots would not be offered and an applicant can apply for only 100-500 square yard plots.
