The Punjab School Education Board has refused to regularise 750 private schools in the state.

3,050 schools recognised,750 denied

The Punjab School Education Board has refused to regularise 750 private schools in the state. These institutions will also forfeit almost Rs 1 crore fee that they had deposited to seek regularisation. The board has,however,regularised 3,050 other schools that have fulfilled the terms of its policy to accord associate school certificate to the interested private schools,who were running without any affiliation or recognition from any Board.

New fountain at Palm Park

A water fountain was inaugurated at the Palm Park in Dadumajra Colony. The fountain was installed at a cost of Rs 7.30 lakh. The agency that provided the fountain will operate and maintain it for five years Already,24 fountains are in place in the city and 12 more are in the pipeline to be installed in various green belts and parks.

Car snatched on National Highway

Two men snatched a Swift from a Sirmaur resident on Saturday night on NH-73. Avinash was driving to Kala Amb from Chandigarh when the two men,one armed with a pistol and the other with a stick,followed,overtook,waylaid and snatched the car near Khangesra village.
