MC to fine builder who left midway

chandigarh: The Municipal Corporation (MC) is all set to penalise the contractor allotted the task for construction of the bridge near the Housing Board lightpoint in Manimajra. The contractor has left the work mid-way,leaving the civic body with little choice but to complete the project departmentally. Area councillor Gurcharan Dass Kala said that work on the bridge has been pending for the past many years. This should be completed on time so that the residents are not inconvenienced, he added. p3

CPS makes surprise trip to hospital

Panchkula: In a surprise visit to General Hospital,Sector 6,on Friday,Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS),Health,Ram Kishan Fuaji slammed the staff for poor sanitary conditions. He directed the Director General,Health Services,Dr Narveer Singh,to immediately suspend officials for dereliction of duties in maintaining proper cleanliness in different wards of the hospital. p3

PU hostelers protest
