Mahhi Vij shares a picture with ex-husband Jay Bhanushali after cryptic Instagram stories go viral: ‘Stop making it dirty’

In one of the stories, Mahi shared a quote that read, “I love people who love my kids. They have a special place in  my heart forever.” Another quote that Mahhi shared said, “Be the reason why people believe in beautiful souls, kind hearts, and good energy. Never stop being a good person.” A third quote shared by Mahhi also reads, “You will end up really disappointed if you think people will do for you as you do for them.”

While many pages on social media assumed that these notes were aimed at her ex-husband, Jay Bhanushali, Mahhi also shared another story to clarify the same. Posting a picture with Jay, she wrote, “Yeah, this is us. For likes and comments, media can stoop to any level. My stories are not for Jay, stop making it dirty just like your journalism.”

Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali’s divorce announcement

On Sunday, both Jay and Mahhi shared a note on social media announcing that they have ended their 14-year marriage. The note read, “Today, we choose to part ways on a journey called life, yet we continue to have each other’s backs. Peace, growth, kindness, and humanity have always been our guiding values. For the sake of our children, Tara, Khushi, and Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them. Though we walk separate paths, there is no villain in this story and no negativity attached to this decision. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else. We continue to respect one another, support one another, and remain friends, as we always have been. With mutual respect, we ask for your respect, love, and kindness as we move forward. Mahhi Vij & Jay Bhanushali”.

In November last year, rumours about Jay and Mahhi’s estragement had started floating. While the actress had quashed all the rumors in her YouTube vlog back then, people close to the couple had earlier shared that Jay and Mahhi had already separated eaqrly in 2025.

Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij got married in 2011. In 2017, the couple took responsibility for two foster kids – Khushi and Rajveer. In 2019, they welcomed their daughter Tara. While on the work front, Mahhi made her comeback on TV after 9 years with the show Sehar Hone Ko Hai, Jay was seen hosting a dance reality show in 2024.
