CII,BTGT organise programme for faculty

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Bridging The Gap Together (BTGT) on Tuesday organised the first faculty development programme in a series of upcoming programmes for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at the CII headquarters in Sector 31

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Bridging The Gap Together (BTGT) on Tuesday organised the first faculty development programme in a series of upcoming programmes for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at the CII headquarters in Sector 31. Around 50 teachers and principals from the tricity institutes attended the workshop,where experts showcased some interventions required to convert ITIs into ‘learning centres’ and the role of the faculty as ‘change agents’,according to the official press release.

“An effective ITI stands on six pillars – systemic thinking,shared vision,team learning,personal mastery and mental models,” said Y S Guleria,a CII member. The methodology of the workshop included techniques like self-reflection,and goal-setting.

“Faculty development and upgrading the ITIs are the keys to impart skills to the required number of people. Today’s programme was an initiative in this direction,” said Pikender Pal Singh,Regional Director,CII.
