DAV College authorities turned down the demand of various student organisations for recounting of votes for the result of student elections held on September 8.
The decision was taken in a meeting, which was chaired by the principal and college administration. The student organisations had alleged that fake votes were polled for the winning INSO presidential candidate. The college authorities were involved in it.
Principal B C Josan of DAV College said: “The process followed in counting of votes and recounting was completely transparent and authentic. For us every student is equal and there is no chance of favouring anyone these allegations are baseless.”
High Drama prevailed outside the college after the result was announced as the students resorted to protests outside the college gate. Students demanded CCTV footage and attendance sheet which the authorities had refused to divulge.
