A day after the exit of Chandigarh boys Nischay Raval and Ajay Yadav, all the hopes were resting on Rajbir Kaur and Parminder Kaur to come up with a fine show. However, they were also shown the door in the girls’ Under-14 and Under-16 category qualifiers in the All India National Series Tennis Tournament held in Andheri,Mumbai on Thursday.

Sneha,a trainee of Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy in Bangalore, emerged as thorn in paths of both these players. Unseeded Sneha overwhelmed Chandigarh’s Rajbir Kaur, seeded 11th in the tournament,in straight sets by 6-3,6-3. Sneha looked in sublime form and easily

overpowered Rajbir to enter the last 16 of girls’ Under-14 category.

Meanwhile,Sneha was on target again as she rallied to beat Parminder Kaur to enter the girls’ Under-16 quarter-finals. After winning the first set easily by 6-0,Sneha once again showed her superiority over Parminder by securing the second set also by 6-2 in the pre-quarters.
