Vedant achieved a perfect score of 100 in the JEE Main results announced in April. He resides in Sector 32, Chandigarh. Vedant’s father, Dr Shiv Sajan Saini, is an associate professor at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, while his mother, Vidhushi Mahajan, is a paediatrician at Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32.

Speaking to The Indian Express on Sunday, Vedant’s father, Shiv Sajan Saini, said, “We were sure that he would make it. In fact, he is very fond of mathematics. So much so that he was selected for the International Maths Olympiad this time, too, the first level of which was to be held in Chennai. However, the dates clashed with JEE Advanced, and he had to choose one of the two, so he dropped the Olympiad.”
